Second time winners for Ardnamurchan High pupils

Ardnamurchan High School has won the ’Highland Enterprising Maths’ trophy for the second year running.  

Veterans of the competition Alistair Tait and Ben Gregg were joined by ‘newbies’ Dugald Macintyre and Bethan White to overcome strong competition from 13 other Highland schools at Millburn Academy in Inverness on Thursday 21 September.

They will now take part in the prestigious national final of the Maths competition held at Glasgow Science centre.

Christopher Millar-Craig, Head Teacher at at Ardnamurchan High School said: “We are delighted that the hard work of the pupils and the maths department has paid off to bring the trophy back to Ardnamurchan again.”

Stephen Aitken, Teacher of Mathematics at Ardnamurchan High added: “Well done to the pupils and good luck in the final.”

Ardnamurchan High School is located in Strontian and serves the wider areas of Sunart, Morvern and Ardnamurchan and has a roll of 107 pupils.
