Star Award for Highland Council Learning and Development

The Highland Council Learning & Development team has won the SQA Life Long Learning Centre Award (Highly Commended) for 2017.

The Annual Scottish Qualification Authority Star Awards celebrate and encourage success and achievement, recognising the best in training and education across Scotland. It is a key event in the education calendar, attended by education and business leaders. The ceremony acknowledges the partnerships, innovation and creativity from schools, colleges, employers and other training providers across the country who delivery SQA qualifications.

Vice Chair of Resources, Councillor Andrew Baxter, said, “It’s a marvellous achievement for the Learning and Development team. It’s brilliant to see the hard work and effort they contribute to workforce development being recognised.”

They have delivered outstanding learning & development services to Highland Council, NHS Highland and many other clients. By delivering these services, they have successfully gained a great achievement and a prestigious award.

Kerry Webb, Centre Manager, says, “The Highland Council Assessment Centre has been established since 1999 and has qualified over 2500 staff over this time. We are delighted with this award which recognises the hard work and innovation of the team and our partners.”
