Corran Ferry – essential maintenance

Update (The MV Corran essential maintenance has been completed earlier than expected and as a result was reintroduced back into service today 18/01/18 at 12:05).

The MV Corran ferry will be taken out of service on the 17th and 18th January 2018 in order for essential maintenance to be carried out.

The MV Maid of Glencoul will provide a replacement ferry service for the MV Corran during 17th and 18th.

The maintenance is required to the MV Corran’s steering system which was recommended as a result of a failure experienced in July last year.

Engineers will replace several parts they deem necessary to refurbish the steering system until a new system is installed later in the year.

Highland Council recognises that there is no good time to take the vessel out of service but mid-January is generally a quiet period for the MV Corran.

The Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
