  • Invergordon Academy – Community Cafe

The Easter Ross Community Partnership will meet in public at the community café in Invergordon Academy on Tuesday 30th January 2018 at 7 pm.  This will be its sixth meeting and we are now back in Invergordon for the 2nd time.

There will be updates on the plan for services to children, the plan for services to adults and the first of the Locality Plans, for the Seaboard villages. The Seaboard locality plan is based on feedback from the community which has helped us to better understand the strengths the community has and the opportunities it offers as well as identify some very specific actions which people felt would improve the area and address the inequalities and needs that exist.

The Partnership’s Chair, Mark Loynd of the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service said “The Partnership has found its engagement with the Balintore and wider Seaboard community very informative and useful. It has helped us to identify specific areas of work and improvements which the community tells us are needed. The challenge now is for us work jointly with the community to help make these things happen’’.

Mark added ‘We also now need to look ahead to our other locality plans. We have started work in Alness but have much more to do.  We will need to work hard to make sure we make real contact across the whole community and we are looking forward to meeting with some of the many groups active in the area. Once again we will use the Place Standard survey to help identify the benefits and challenges for different people across the town.  We want local people to be able to really influence future services in the area and the more detail we get from the community, the better informed we will be in developing local initiatives that will really tackle inequalities.

The focus of the meeting will firstly be creation of an action team which can work with key agencies and community members in the Balintore area to refine and deliver the improvements identified within the Balintore Locality Plan.

The Partnership has now set dates and locations for its meetings for the rest of 2018, as follows;

Wednesday 21 March                    -              Tain

Wednesday 16 May                        -              Alness
