Tain and Easter Ross Community Cash – Projects short-listed for public vote

Following the Tain and Easter Ross Community Cash initial bidding process, 37 projects now have a chance to put their idea to the public vote. There is £15,000 on offer with applications received totalling £43,833.94

The participatory budgeting event will take place in the Duthac Centre in Tain on Saturday 24 February. Registration will be from 9.15 am and the event will start at 10.00 am sharp and run until around 2 pm.

Each applicant will be given a 4 minute slot to make their pitch for funding and a vote will take place at the end of the event to determine which projects are successful. Voting will be open to anyone who is in S1 at school or older who attends and listens to all of the presentations.

Councillor Fiona Robertson said: “My fellow Members Cllr Derek Louden and Cllr Alasdair Rhind and the volunteers who have helped organise this event are really excited about it. We are handing the decision making on how to spend this £15,000 to the community at a really local level. I would encourage anyone interested in the process to come along and make their vote count.”
