Local Priorities for Badenoch and Strathspey

Members of The Highland Council’s Badenoch and Strathspey Area Committee have agreed a set of new Local Priorities for the Ward.

These new priorities will be promoted among the wider Council membership and will be aligned with the Council’s Programme for 2017-22.

Councillors noted that there will be opportunity, through the development of the local community partnership and engagement with community bodies and communities to consider wider shared priorities over the Council’s term.

They also noted that further work will be done this year to identify how the local priorities agreed can be supported by staff and other Council resources. Measuring the progress of Local Priorities in the Ward will be reported to the Area Committee.

Cllr Bill Lobban Chair of the Badenoch and Strathspey Area Committee said: “We will continue to build on the Council’s localism agenda and make sure we make decisions locally wherever possible.”

Details of the priorities for Badenoch and Strathspey can be found on the council’s website at: https://www.highland.gov.uk/download/meetings/id/73139/item_9_local_strategic_priorities
