Castle Street congestion expected

Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council to expect delays in the Castle Street area of Inverness from Monday 23rd April to Saturday 28th April when traffic will be disrupted due to scaffolding being dismantled at 51 to 53 Castle Street premises.

Alternative through routes are available via the West Link or Friars Bridge.

The scaffolding was put in place in late January to allow essential work to be carried out to make the premises safe. Highland Council had served a Dangerous Buildings Notice on the building owners.

One lane of Castle Street will be closed off on Monday 23rd to Saturday 28th April to allow contractors to remove dismantled scaffolding and builders’ materials.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed and the road re-opened by Saturday evening at the latest - prior to the Etape Loch Ness on 29th April.

Highland Council advises through motorists to avoid Castle Street during the lane closure or to expect delays. Alternative through routes are available via the West Link or Friars Bridge.
