​​​​​​​Temporary road closures - Eve of Inverness Highland Games Gala Night Parade

The public are being advised that various Inverness streets will be temporarily closed on Friday 20 July (under Police control) during the Eve of Inverness Highland Games Gala Night Parade between 18:50 and 19:25.

The temporary closures will be made in the interests of public safety during the parade and temporary traffic prohibitions will affect vehicular traffic.

The temporary traffic prohibitions will come into and remain in effect, during the times listed below on Friday 20 July, and only then under the direction of a Police Constable in uniform.

  • Eastgate, Inverness, closed at its junction with Crown Road to its junction with High Street, between 18:50 hours and 19:10 hours.
  • High Street, Inverness, closed at its junction with Eastgate to its junction with Castle Street, between 18:50 hours and 19:10 hours.
  • High Street, Inverness, closed at its junction with Castle Street to its junction with Bridge Street, between 18:50 hours and 19:10 hours.
  • Bridge Street, Inverness, closed at its junction with High Street to its junction with Castle Road, between 18:50 hours and 19:10 hours
  • Ness Bridge, Inverness, closed at its junction with Bank Street to its junction with Young Street, between 18:55 hours and 19:15 hours.
  • Ness Walk, Inverness, closed at its junction with Young Street to its junction with Ardross Terrace, between 19:00 hours and 19:20 hours.
  • Ardross Terrace, Inverness, closed at its junction with Ness Walk to its junction with Ardross Street, between 19:00 hours and 19:20 hours.
  • Ardross Street, Inverness, closed at its junction with Ardross Terrace to its junction with Glenurquhart Road (A82 Trunk Road), between 19:05 hours and 19:25 hours.

The Council has taken regard of the safety and convenience of alternative routes suitable for traffic which will be affected.
