Landslips

Contractors and council engineering staff continue to work on both roads affected by recent landslips. These are at B8043 Kingairloch road, adjacent to the Kingairloch estate road and at B849 Drimnin road, near Killundine.

It is not yet clear when they will be in a position to reopen, although work will continue through the weekend as required in order to ensure that this is as soon as possible.

There is a local diversion in place for the Kingairloch road.

At Drimnin there is no alternative route.  However there is limited access for light vehicles - cars and emergency vehicles, where council marshals are on site during daylight hours to allow any essential vehicles to pass.  However, this is discouraged for all other than urgent or emergency trips due to the nature of the landslip site and the delays caused to the restoration work.  The passage of such vehicles (other than emergency vehicles) should expect significant delays.

Council staff are continuing to liaise with the local communities.
