Christmas capers for children at Fort Augustus.

Great Glen Way Rangers are inviting children to join them for some Christmas fun and cheer this weekend on Saturday 15th December from 10.30am to 3.30pm at Fort Augustus Community Hall.

Back by popular demand the Great Glen Way Rangers will host a drop in day for parents and children to come along and make decorations, cards and crafts with a Christmas theme.

Lynda Dodd, Great Glen Way Manager said: “We had a very successful Christmas capers event for the last two years ago with pine needles, ivy and glitter galore. This year promises to be another great day to play inside and make things for Christmas.

“Choose from spending the morning making cards, or a table decoration, or festive door wreath, and stars for Christmas trees, and what’s more you can either take home with you what you have made or leave it to decorate the community Christmas tree for the children’s Christmas party.

“Bring old cards, your fingers and be inspired by what can be made from the forest and last years cards. Coffee and tea available for parents and carers and juice for the kids - everyone is welcome.”

This Christmas event is part of an annual programme of events organised by the Great Glen Way Rangers which aims to provide environmental education and countryside interpretation. The Rangers work regularly with local communities throughout the Great Glen.

Fort Augustus Community Hall is located above the village (the one up the hill). For further information please contact: Great Glen Way Rangers Tel/Fax/Answer Machine: 01320 366 633 e-mail: greatglenway@highland.gov.uk
