Highland Council staff, based at the headquarters building on Glenurquhart Road in Inverness, and Highland Councillors have generously donated a huge amount of items to the Blythswood Highland Food bank in the run up to Christmas this year.

Business Support Officer Lynsay Mackay, co-ordinated the collection for the Care and Learning Service while Corporate Performance Officer, Lorna Bailey, co-ordinated the donations for Corporate Resources staff.

The items collected managed to fill fifteen boxes and twenty four carrier bags which were then delivered on Wednesday morning (19 December 2018) to help those most in need at this time of year.

The Depute Leader of the Highland Council, Councillor Alasdair Christie said: “We know that many people across the Highlands struggle to make ends meet, especially at this time of year. I am certain that the items donated will make a big difference. I’d like to thank my fellow Councillors and Council staff for giving so generously.”
