Twenty nine members of The Highland Council’s Care and Learning team have celebrated their success in completing the Council’s 15 month ‘Lead On’ programme.

‘Lead On’, is a programme designed to develop practitioners’ understanding of change leadership and apply this through a change initiative in their place of work. It is attended by staff across the Care and Learning service.

The final day of the leadership programme provides a platform for the participants to present the impact and outcomes of their change leadership initiative within their work place, including their personal leadership growth through being a participant.

Earlier this month, staff in the eighth programme cohort, from schools; additional support needs teams and allied health professionals met to celebrate the end of their programme. The learning from the change leadership initiatives will be shared with teams across Care and Learning to support the development of future improvement plans.

The Council’s ‘Lead On’ programme is accredited by the Scottish College of Educational Leadership (SCEL). Those working in education also receive professional recognition from the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS).

The ninth cohort of ‘Lead On’ is already underway, having begun in September 2018, and applications for the tenth cohort will be open for application in the New Year.
