Interim Community Council elections

Full details and application forms can be found at this link:

Nominations are being invited from people seeking election to three Highland community councils:

  • Marybank Scatwell and Strathconon Community Council;
  • Morvern Community Council; and
  • Stromeferry and Achmore Community Council.

Community Councils are voluntary organisations that express the views and concerns of local people within their area across a wide range of issues from new buildings and roads to local services and facilities.

The need to hold interim elections has come about due to the resignation of some members which have brought the community councils down to below half of their memberships.

To stand for election candidates must be entered in the current Electoral Register for the Community Council area.

The deadline for receiving all nominations is 4pm on Wednesday, 6 February 2019.

Nomination forms and copies of the scheme for the establishment of Community Councils can be:

. downloaded from the ‘Community Councils’ section of Highland Council website at www.highland.gov.uk/elections
· obtained on request, by e-mail to elections@highland.gov.uk,
· obtained in person from any Council Service Point; or
. by phoning the Council’s Service Centre on 01349 886657.
