Revised dates for A9 Tain South junction closure

Issued on behalf of BEAR Scotland

New revised dates have been set for essential resurfacing works on a section of the A9 Trunk Road, on the Tain Bypass.  The new dates are from Sunday 24th March to Friday 29th March 2019.

The works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland.

The works will require the Tain South junction with the A9 to remain closed between the hours of 1900hrs and 0700hrs from Sunday 24th March to Friday 29th March and traffic will be diverted onto the B9174 via the Tain North Junction.

During working hours, temporary traffic lights will be in place and a 10mph speed restriction will be enforced. A convoy system will be in operation to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the travelling public. Outside of the working hours, traffic management will be removed, and the junction will be reopened. However, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary road surface.

Bear Scotland would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their patience whilst these essential works are undertaken.
