Second term for Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism Business Improvement District
Businesses have voted for the Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism Business Improvement District (BID) to continue for a second term and a further five years from 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2024.
Ballot papers for the Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism BID election were issued on Thursday, 24 January 2019 to 359 eligible non-domestic ratepayers within the geographical area of the proposed BID. Those ratepayers eligible to vote have been voting for the past six weeks.
The count was held today Friday 8 March 2019 and the ‘yes’ result declared at Eden Court, Inverness by the Ballot Holder, Donna Manson, who is The Highland Council’s Chief Executive, by the Independent Scrutineer, Electoral Reform Services, London.
The total number of votes cast was 158.
• 115 businesses voted ‘Yes’ and
• 43 businesses voted ‘No’.
The geographical area of the Visit Inverness Loch Ness Tourism BID area covers The Highland Council Wards of Aird and Loch Ness, Inverness West, Inverness Central (excluding the area covered by the Inverness City Centre BID); Inverness Ness-side, Inverness Millburn, Culloden and Ardersier and Inverness South.
