Apply now for Community Transport grants

The Highland Council is now inviting applications for Community Transport grant funding, to cover the three-year period from April 2020 – March 2023.

The Council encourages both current grant recipients and new applicants to submit applications.

The Council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure Committee approved the criteria for new Community Transport grants and the launching of an invitation to bid for new grants at their meeting on 15 August.

In a departure from previous grant application invitations, funding of Section 22 community bus routes will be considered.

The role of Community Transport within the Council is vital and the diversity of projects and activities which address the unique circumstances and opportunities within a particular area are welcomed. Crucially, these initiatives foster communities’ direct involvement in solutions which most closely address and meet their transport needs, with the added benefit of empowering individuals and the broader community.

Details of the process and how to apply are on the council's website at:

The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, 20 September 2019.

Anyone with queries regarding submission of their application; require an application pack or have any other questions regarding the process, please contact:
