Council to host flood event in Dingwall

The Highland Council will be hosting another multi-agency drop-in session and meeting at Dingwall Academy on Monday 16 September. This flood awareness event will cover local infrastructure, planning, flood protection and insurance, the process for applying for a flood scheme and further information on related matters.

Date: 16 September 2019
Venue: Dingwall Academy – gym hall
Times:

  • 4:15-6:45pm Drop in session on flooding
  • 7-8pm Public meeting on flooding with presentations by SEPA, Scottish Water, The Scottish Flood Forum and The Highland Council

This event follows on from the successfully attended drop-in session which the Council hosted back in August. Highland Council Chief Executive Donna Manson initiated an action plan to respond to local residents, following flooding in Dingwall earlier this year.

Donna Manson said: “I would like to encourage interested residents to come along to the drop in event next week, these discussions inform future planning and decision making and the information people from the local community were able to provide at our last meeting was extremely helpful to the flood team.”

Following the flooding in Dingwall in July and August 2019 and subsequent public meeting held at the Council Offices in Dingwall on Tuesday 6th August. The Council committed to addressing the various questions raised both in the immediate aftermath of the flooding and at the meeting itself. The following document provides a comprehensive list of questions raised and responses by the various agencies involved.
