River Ness flood gates to close for a short time this Wednesday

The Council will be carrying out the annual maintenance and training exercise in regard to the flood gates on the River Ness on Wednesday 25 September 2019 between 0900 and 1300.

This will involve closing the flood gates on the flood wall between the harbour area and the Ness Bridge.  While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, there will be periods when access at some of the gates may not be possible, but we will try to limit the closures to as short a time as possible.

In particular, the Greig Street bridge gates will be closed and it is recommended that the public avoid this particular crossing of the river during the time of the exercise.
