Council to consult on Fortrose and Rosemarkie Common Good land.

The Highland Council is today (3 October 2019) launching an 8 week Common Good consultation giving the Fortrose and Rosemarkie community until 29 November 2019 to respond to a proposal to dispose, by lease, of Fortrose Caravan Park (located on Common Good land) to the existing tenants.

The existing tenants have a lease in respect of the Caravan Park which has an expiry date of 2025. They have asked the Council to consider granting and additional 30 year term to give them the security to continue to invest in the Caravan Park and see a return on their level of investment.

The Council is keen to hear the community’s views on the proposal and all submissions will be given full regard before a decision on whether, and how, to proceed is made.

The consultation runs for 8 weeks and will close on 29 November 2019. The full consultation document and guidance is available at:

Please submit written responses either by email to commongood@highland.gov.uk or by post to Sara Murdoch, The Highland Council HQ, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, IV3 5NX.

All consultation representations, responses and any final decision will be published on the Council website.
