Energy Efficiency Community events in Tain, Balintore and Milton

The Scottish Government has awarded The Highland Council funding to deliver area based energy efficiency programmes in the Highlands.

The area based programmes aim to:

  • Target fuel-poor areas
  • Offer insulation measures, such as External Wall Insulation (EWI), Cavity and Loft Insulation

The Scottish Government grant, in conjunction with Energy Company Obligation (ECO) funding, and a homeowner contribution will help owner occupiers and privately rented properties to improve the energy efficiency within their home.

Drop-in Community events have been organised in Tain, Milton and Balintore the week beginning the 28 October to provide more information.

Details of the three drop-in events are:

  • Monday 28 October
2pm to 5:30pm at Tain Library

  • Wednesday 30 October
    2pm – 6pm at Mercat Centre, Milton

  • Friday 1 November
    2pm – 6pm at Seaboard Centre, Balintore

Letters from The Highland Council are being distributed to home owners in the area inviting them to call in to these sessions to meet representatives from the Council and E.ON, ask questions and confirm eligibility. Other home owners are welcome to attend to find out more information on energy efficiency.

Homeowners and landlords who received a letter are invited to contact E.ON for more information and/or to contact Home Energy Scotland for free and impartial advice.

The Highland Council wishes to highlight to homeowners that initial contact will be in writing only and no cold calling or door knocking will take place.
