Speech and Language Therapists planning stand to mark Stammering Awareness Day 2019

Tracy Robson and Joanne Johnson, Speech and Language Therapists, are planning a stand to mark Stammering Awareness Day 2019.

The awareness day is the 22nd October but a stand will be running on 17 October in the Outpatients Department at Raigmore Hospital (Inverness).

The stand will provide information about stammering and the role Speech and Language Therapy plays with people who stammer and the wider population.

There will be some merchandise available to buy and a pot for donations to help fundraise for Stamma.org.

Councillor John Finlayson “I am delighted that awareness is being promoted with regard to this issue and information will be made available to help those who need support with stammering or want to find out more about how to support others including children.

"As an ex-Head Teacher I am acutely aware of how stammering can affect young people and also how important speech and language therapists are in ensuring the right advice and support is given to those who require it.”
