Council response to overnight flooding

Staff in Highland Council's Community Services teams have been responding to flooding and roads issues overnight.

Teams have been out since 2am responding to major flooding overnight in Inverness and Culloden. At Diriebught Road, Inverness, the watercourse has overtopped and a number of properties are affected, including a collapsed wall. Diriebught Road has been closed.

The B9006 is currently closed between Culloden Moor and Croy with particular problems near to Brinkman Terrace and Cantraybruich bend. 

In Ross and Cromarty temporary traffic lights are in place due to a land slip at the A832 Fairy Glen and there is flooding on Strathconon road,  and the A832 Tore to Fortrose. 

On Struy Road, Evanton a reported accident has caused the temporary closure of the road while vehicles are removed.

There are no reported issues in Skye, Caithness or Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey.
