It’s business as usual this weekend for traders in the Inverness Victorian Market who will be welcoming Christmas shoppers looking for that extra special gift or a warm indoor break from their Christmas shopping.

The Highland Council and Victorian Market management are informing shoppers that while the Council and Police are aware that there will be a protest at the Victorian Market Academy Street entrance from 12 – 2pm on Saturday 14th December – its business as usual inside the market - and shoppers and visitors are welcome.

The Highland Council - on behalf of the Inverness Common Good Fund – is currently supporting businesses in the “Market Hall” and “Fish Hall” during a transformation project of the Market Hall and Fish Hall which is the section of the Victorian Market on the Church Street side of the Market.

The transformation project does not include the ‘Market Arcade’ and ‘Queensgate’.

Businesses within the Market Arcade and Queensgate are not part of the transformation project and are open and along with other businesses in the Market are welcoming customers on this key Christmas trading weekend.
