Inverness West Link Stage 2 – road closure / HGV diversion
To allow the construction of the Inverness West Link Stage 2 project, there will be an overnight road closure on the A82 from 19:00 on Monday 10 February to 06:00 on Tuesday 11 February. This closure will be between the General Booth road junction with the A82 and the shared access to the Beefeater and Premier Inn Hotel.
A signed diversion will be in place for all vehicles except for site vehicles, service buses and emergency services, for which access will be maintained. Pedestrian access will not be affected by the closure.
Once the section of work is complete the A82 will reopen to cars and light goods vehicles which will flow in 2-way traffic to the South of the partially completed roundabout. Due to the restricted lane widths there will be a 10mph speed limit and a 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the A82 between the roundabout to the East of Tomnahurich swing bridge and the junction with General Booth Road. There will be a signed diversion for HGVs in place at this time. This HGV diversion is likely to be in place for a period of 6 weeks which will allow for the completion of the new roundabout on the A82.
Access will still be permitted for HGVs delivering to the West Link Project and local businesses; for the emergency services, road maintenance vehicles and service buses.
The Highland Council and their Contractor, R J McLeod Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience experienced as a result of this necessary work.
