New Chair for Black Isle, Dingwall and Seaforth Committee

A new Chair has been appointed at the inaugural meeting of The Highland Council’s Black Isle, Dingwall and Seaforth Committee which was held in the Council Chamber at Council Offices in Dingwall, on Tuesday, 25 February 2020.

Councillor Gordon Adam was voted as Chair of the Committee and Councillor Margaret Paterson was voted as Vice Chair.

Councillor Adam said: “It is a privilege to Chair this new area committee of Black Isle, Dingwall and Seaforth.  

“The communities of this area are closely linked and there are exciting opportunities for the committee to tackle issues which are local priorities.

“The Highland Council is committed towards more locally based decision making, as well as devolving budgets so that some spending decisions are genuinely influenced by local concerns.

“My colleagues and I look forward to moving ahead with innovative ideas in the interests of strengthening local democracy when difficult funding decisions have to be made.”
