Additional night of work required for ongoing surfacing improvements on the A82 at Drumnadrochit

Please be advised that the ongoing surfacing improvements on the A82 Drumnadrochit to Temple Pier project require an additional night of work to allow teams to make the area safe before temporarily pausing the project.
Following recent Government announcements regarding Covid-19 teams require an extra night of work on Friday 27 March between 8pm and 6am to ensure that the area can be made safe for public use before the work is temporarily halted. Teams will return to complete the project at a later date.
The traffic management will remain the same as used previously with an overnight road closure in place during working hours due to the narrow road widths on this section of the A82. To help minimise disruption, amnesties will be provided at 10pm, 12am, 2am and 4am to safely escort traffic through the work site.
Teams continue to liaise with Transport Scotland with regards to the current projects programme following the Government announcement and will reschedule work where necessary.
All relevant stakeholders will be updated once new dates for the project has been confirmed.

“It is necessary to temporally pause some ongoing projects across the network including these surfacing improvements on the A82 at Drumnadrochit, however essential services such as our Emergency Defect Repair teams will continue to monitor the conditions of routes across the network ensuring they remain safe for vital users.
“We’re doing our utmost to adhere to any new advice as it emerges, and we’ll continue to work with Transport Scotland to ensure we can deliver a safe trunk road network across the north of Scotland during this difficult time.”
