B851 Inverarnie Village Improvement Scheme – Works to recommence Monday

The public are advised that works to the previously suspended B851 Inverarnie Village Improvement Scheme will recommence next Monday (22 June 2020)

This follows the Scottish Government’s announcement of a move to Phase 2 of the Restart Plan for the construction industry to enable a gradual build-up of workforce and site activities.

Pre-start Site preparations are currently underway to provide enhanced welfare provisions for site personnel, the erection of pedestrian signage and the marking out of 2m distancing where required  Welfare units are scheduled to be delivered to site this Friday (19 June).

A council spokesman said: “The contractor has carried out appropriate measures to ensure compliance with current guidance for working under COVID-19 arrangements. They have been instructed to ensure they maintain physical distancing and will manage pedestrians through the site safely.  Appropriate traffic management provision, similar to previously used, will again be in operation.

“We thank you for your continued patience with these works and your cooperation in maintaining physical distancing when travelling through the site.”

The previously planned road closure in March, cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, is hoped to be re-scheduled for the week commencing 13 July to carry out the required and planned carriageway resurfacing.  Once details can be confirmed the details will be promoted to give as much advanced notice to road users and the community as possible.
