New section of city road to open on Monday

The Highland Council are pleased to confirm that the new section of General Booth Road in Inverness will open to traffic at lunchtime on Monday (6 July).

This new section of General Booth Road forms part on the ongoing Inverness West Link Stage 2 Project and links the Kinmylies area of Inverness with the A82 Trunk Road.

Access is off the new roundabout on the A82. Temporary traffic signs will be installed and in use until the new signs are installed over the coming months.

There are two new bus laybys on General Booth Road. These are open to buses and the bus shelters will be installed in the next week.

The speed limit on General Booth Road is 30mph which will be reduced to 10mph when there are operatives or plant working on or adjacent to the road.

The opening of this section of General Booth Road was postponed due to recent Covid-19 working restrictions. Both The Highland Council and the contractor for the works R J McLeod Ltd would like to thank the public for their patience during this unavoidable delay.
