Notice of temporary traffic restrictions as work on West Link project continues
Work is progressing well with the Inverness West Link project and the public are being advised about further planned works and traffic management arrangements that will be in place on a section of the A82 over the next couple of weeks.
On Wednesday 11 November from 11am road surfacing works will take place on the A82 from the Torvean Roundabout over the new underpass to tie into existing A82 Southbound carriageway. There will be a 4 way set of lights on the Torvean roundabout and a convoy vehicle to allow the works to progress safely. On completion of the surfacing on Wednesday pm, the traffic will be diverted onto the surfaced Southbound carriageway with a 4 way set of lights left on the roundabout until the morning of Tuesday 17th November. Traffic heading into Inverness on the A82 Northbound and from the Site offices / Rowing Club will go the opposite way on the roundabout under traffic lights.
On Tuesday 17th November from 8am the road will be fully open over the underpass to the South of Torvean Roundabout for North and South bound traffic. 4 way traffic lights on A82 will be in place to cover a section of the road from Torvean Roundabout to Tomnahurich Bridge to allow preparatory works and planning prior to overnight works.
From 7pm to 6am on both Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th November the A82 road will be closed between Torvean Roundabout and Tomnahurich Swing Bridge to allow surfacing works to be completed. Access will be maintained for the premises, residents, emergency services and bus services.
Following the closures there will be a requirement for periodic 4 way lights to allow footpaths, signs and white lining to be completed on the A82 and General Booth Road.
The Council apologises for any inconvenience and advises drivers to follow all diversions and allow extra time for their journeys.
