Environmental Health clarifies guidance to businesses

Highland Council confirm that updated Covid guidance for the Events Sector has recently been published by the Scottish Government. The guidance has been updated in line with Scotland's Strategic Framework.

Alan Yates, Environmental Health Manager said: “All businesses within this sector are urged to read the latest guidance if they have not already done so and take the necessary steps to ensure compliance. Whilst Indoor Seated Live Events are now permitted in Level 1, Highland Council would urge event organisers to carefully consider all aspects of the guidance prior to committing to organising any such event and for you to decide whether it is appropriate or not at this time. Only where event organisers are fully confident that they can be held safely and in full compliance with the guidance should they be considered. To assist event organisers, the Environmental Health team have prepared a briefing note to help clarify the main considerations in terms of the Scot Gov guidance when holding such events.”

Updated Covid guidance for the Tourism and Hospitality Sector and the Retail Sector  including Close Contact Services, has also recently been published. The guidance has been updated in line with Scotland's Strategic Framework. All businesses within this sector are urged to read and refresh themselves with the latest guidance if they have not already done so and take any necessary steps to ensure compliance.
