Exhibition shows Inverness through the eyes of young people

An exhibition currently on show in Inverness Museum and Art Gallery explores Inverness through the eyes of young photographers.

Five young photographers from around Inverness have taken photographs of their city with the guidance of Inverness based Artist Jamie Harris. The culmination of their work has been brought together in an exhibition titled, “Rediscover Inverness”.

The young people attended a workshop organised by Inverness, Museum and Art Gallery during June and July which was led by Jamie Harris. Before going out to photograph the city they researched photographs from the Council’s Highland Photographic Archive and drew inspiration from some contemporary artists.

Jamies Harris said: “It is an exciting opportunity to celebrate talented Highlanders, these young people have focused on some of the contrasts in our city and I am proud to be a part of this show.”

Jamie Harris is an art teacher and photographer based in the Highlands. He specialises in working with young people.

Rediscover Inverness runs from the 15th July to 7th of August at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. Admission is free.
