Temporary closures on Highland Council roads in Wick and Castletown

Motorists are being advised of the following temporary road closures which are necessary to allow KIER to carry out iron work repairs.

Harbour Quay & Telford Street Wick

Iron work repairs will commence on the B9159 Harbour Quay, Wick, commencing at its junction with the U3491 Burn Street and extending to its junction with U3643 Saltoun Street.

U3655 Telford Street, Wick, commencing at its junction with the U3666 Williamson Street and extending to its junction with B9159 Harbour Quay.

Closure will be in place on 17 December 2020 from 09:30 to 15:30.

Temporary traffic management will be in place and an alternative route for traffic will be available via U3666 Williamson Street and the U3635 Rose Street.  Alternatively: U3805 Bank Row and U3666 Williamson Street.

Joiners Lane – Castletown – Temporary Road Closure

Iron work repairs will commence on U2270 Joiners Lane, Castletown, closed between its junction with A836 Main Street and its junction with U2245 Murrayfield.

The closure will be in place on 18 December 2020 from 09:30 to 15:30

Temporary traffic management will be in place and an alternative route for traffic will be available via the U2265 Butchers Lane and the U2245 Murrayfield. Alternatively: U2275 Bank Lane and U2245 Murrayfield.

Both road closures are to allow contractors to work safely while carrying out iron work repairs.  The Council hopes that any disruption will be kept to an absolute minimum. Local, pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
