Temporary road closures in Inverness

Motorists are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be temporary road closures in the Inverness area this January in 3 locations: Church Street, Harrowden Road; and Telford Street.


Church Street, Inverness

There will be a temporary road closure of Church Street, Inverness, on Friday 22 January between the hours of 9:30 until 15:30.

The closure is required for essential public utility maintenance works to safely proceed.

Access will be maintained for pedestrians and vehicles employed to carry out the works. An alternative route will be available for all other vehicular traffic.


Harrowden Road, Inverness

There will be a temporary closure of Harrowden Road, Inverness which will come into operation at 8:00 on Monday 25 January 2021 and shall remain in effect until 20:00 on Monday 25 January 2021.

The road closure is required to enable a contractor, working on behalf of ‘Cityfibre’, to install fibre optic cable as part of the rollout of the 5G network.

The road closure will be implemented when appropriate signs and barriers are in place, and local residents will be notified by post.

Access will be maintained for pedestrians only. An alternative route will be available for vehicular traffic.


Telford Street, Inverness 

A temporary lane closure will be in operation on the westbound lane of Telford Street, Inverness, between the A82 and Lochalsh Road.

This will come into force from 8:00 on Tuesday 26 January 2021 and will remain in effect until 20:00 on Thursday 28 January 2020.

The lane closure is required to enable a contractor, working on behalf of ‘Cityfibre’, to install fibre optic cable as part of the rollout of the 5G network.

The lane closure will be implemented when appropriate signs and barriers are in place, and local residents will be notified by post.

Access will be maintained for pedestrians only. An alternative route will be available for vehicular traffic
