Highland Council winter road condition report for Friday, 5 February 2021

The scene on the A835 this morning, 5 February 2021.

Maps of the Council’s gritting routes by priority and policy are available online at www.highland.gov.uk/gritting

Highland Council operatives are currently supporting the response to the emergency incident on the A835, which, in turn, is impacting gritting and treatment to routes in other parts of Highland.  If your journey is absolutely essential, travel with great care, plan ahead and ensure your vehicle is well-equipped – consideration should be given to travelling with a snow shovel, extra clothing, blankets, food and a hot drink. Only essential travel is advised if you are in an area affected by wintry conditions.

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Road condition reports for Friday, 5 February 2021 are as follows:

Lochalsh and Ross & Cromarty West
