Scottish Heavyweight Takes Title

Scot Gregor Edmunds powered his way through the second day of competition at Inverness Highland Games to become the World Highland Games Heavy Champion for the first time!
 
An estimated 15,000 spectators attended the Games which took place in a specially constructed arena on the banks of the River Ness in the City's Bught Park.
 
International Highland Games Federation President David Webster said
 
" I should like to thank the people of Inverness for the warmth of the welcome that we have received while we have been here and to congratulate the Highland Council for staging such an excellent Highland Games.
 
Bringing the Championships back to Scotland after 12 years and staging them at the famous Inverness Highland Games in the heart of the Scottish Highlands has been an outstanding success."
