The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.
Road condition reports for Monday, 22 February 2021 are as follows:
Lochalsh and Ross & Cromarty West
Posted at 07:52. Treatment of most routes was cut short due to rising temperatures. No known issues overnight.
Lochaber
Posted at 08:48. No winter action required and no problems overnight.
Skye and Raasay
Posted at 07:07. No winter action required this morning. Positive road surface temperatures across domain. No issues reported overnight.
Caithness
Posted at 07:56. Winter treatment of one route this morning as a precaution. No other road issues.
Inverness
Posted at 07:14. Mostly dry roads this morning with some damp patches and low road surface temperatures on higher ground. Checking high routes in Drumnadrochit, Tomatin and Leys. No known issues.
Nairn
Posted at 08:55. Roads dry or damp. Frost in places, especially high roads. Routes checked and treated as necessary. No other issues to report.
Badenoch and Strathspey
Posted at 08:54. Roads dry or damp with frost first thing. Main routes checked and treated as necessary. No other issues.
Ross and Cromarty East
Posted at 07:47. Dry roads. No known issues.
The UK Met Office does not currently have any weather warnings in place for the Highland region.
