Temporary road closures in Inverness

Motorists and pedestrians are being advised by The Highland Council that there will be temporary road closures in the Inverness area this March at Greig Street Bridge and Lodge Road.

Greig Street Bridge, Inverness will be closed from 8.00 on Monday 1 March 2021 until 18.00 on Friday 19 March 2021 for essential repair works being carried out by contractors on behalf of The Highland Council.

In the interest of public safety during this time, no person can walk or cycle on the footbridge.

To allow contractors working on behalf of ‘Cityfibre’ to install fibre-optic cable as part of the rollout of the 5G network, there will be a temporary closure of U4102 Lodge Road, Inverness.

The closure will come into operation at 8:00 on Tuesday 2 March 2021 and shall remain in effect until 18:00 on Friday 12 March 2021.

Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency vehicles. Other vehicles requiring access will only be allowed at the discretion and by the instruction of the contractor for the works.

Alternative routes will be available for traffic which will be affected by this closure.

The road closure will be implemented when appropriate signs and barriers are in place, and local residents will be notified by post.
