Skye & Raasay Investment Plan community engagement sessions and online survey now live

At today’s Highland Council Skye and Raasay Area Committee Members were updated on the Skye and Raasay Investment Plan. To reach and encourage a wide community participation a survey is now available https://www.highland.gov.uk/skyeraasay and the second round of online community engagement sessions will run throughout the month of June.

The consultation workshops are being organised by the Highland Council and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and are independently led and facilitated by Architecture & Design Scotland.

Following feedback gathered at the initial events held in January 2021, the June online engagement sessions will be split into smaller groups, to enable greater depth of discussion and focus on participant contributions.

Chairing the Skye and Raasay Area Committee on Monday 31 May, Cllr John Finlayson said: “It is great to hear that the next stage of community engagement workshops are about to begin.  We took a great deal of learning from January’s initial virtual sessions; however, it was recognised that moving forward the sessions would work better in smaller designated groups. The online survey is now live on the website and I encourage all residents in Skye and Raasay to take the opportunity to engage in the sessions.  To gain a cross section and consensus view of the people of Skye and Raasay participation is required. The Skye and Raasay Plan is a journey and one that is being driven by the people of the area.  It’s exciting, ambitious and a real opportunity for all in Skye and Raasay area to play their part. Interest and engagement in the plan are strong and this partnership project will be delivered with the people of the area at the heart of it.  The more people participate in the engagement sessions and survey the better informed the project team will be on creating the Skye and Raasay of the future.”
