Deadline to apply for Garden waste permits draws near
The Highland Council’s Garden Waste service for 2021/22 starts on Wednesday 1 September 2021 and customers have until Monday 2 August to order their permits to ensure delivery in time for the first collections of the new service year.
The service will run to 31 August 2022, with a winter break in the months of December, January and February.
The cost of a garden waste permit for 2021/2022 season is £46.35, representing a 3% (£1.35) increase from last year.
The Council has contacted all existing customers via email and letter to remind them of the deadline to renew their permits.
The fortnightly collection service is easy and convenient to use and accepts a wide range of garden material including grass cuttings, leaves, hedge clippings, weeds, flower, plants and small branches. The service is optional, and householders are also able to take their garden waste along to their local Recycling Centre free of charge.
Garden waste permits can be purchased on-line at www.highland.gov.uk/gardenwaste; or by calling the Highland Council’s Service Centre on 01349 886660.
