Chance to have your say on Riverside Way

map

The Highland Council, in partnership with Sustrans Scotland and AECOM, have launched an on-line consultation to gain feedback on the current measures for social distancing in place along the riverside area of Inverness.

The Riverside Way survey will also gather feedback on proposed permanent measures going forward to make this popular area of the city safer for walking, wheeling and cycling as part of the Inverness City Active Travel Network.

The proposals look at options for improved footpaths and cycleway along Ness Walk, Bught Road and joining up to Bught Park attractions, and to the West Link and Caledonian Canal.

The Inverness Active Travel Network is funded by The Highland Council with the support of Transport Scotland, through Sustrans’ Places for Everyone programme. Transport Scotland also provided support for the creation of a one-way vehicular route with cycle contraflow and the widening of footways along the Riverside Way as part of a wider package of measures to help people physically distance throughout the pandemic

As part of the work to gather as many views as possible a special on-line consultation event will take place on Monday 9 August at 7pm via MS Teams. To register for the event please email activetravel@highland.gov.uk and a link to the session will be issued next week.
