Council to consult on Kingussie Common Good land

The Highland Council is today (26 August 2021) launching a Common Good consultation giving the Kingussie community until 8 November 2021 to respond to proposals to dispose, by Community Asset Transfer Lease, of the Market Stance Playing Field to Kingussie Camanachd Club.

The Playing Field has been in a state of disrepair for more than a decade and incapable of use. Kingussie Camanachd Club are seeking to lead a project, on behalf of the whole community, to upgrade the Playing Field to a high standard, installing fencing, goal posts and flood lights.

The hope is that the Playing Field will accommodate a range of sports and be of benefit to the whole community of Kingussie.

The Council is keen to hear the community’s views on the proposals and all submissions will be given full regard before a decision on whether, and how, to proceed is made. Consultation representations, responses and any final decision will be published on the Council website.

The full consultation document is available at: https://www.highland.gov.uk/downloads/download/2024/kingussie_common_good_market_stance_playing_field_consultation
