Tribute to Inverness Pupil Killed in Road Accident

The Rector of Inverness High School has paid tribute to a school prefect killed in a road accident near the city on Sunday night.

Ritchie Cunningham described Drew Watson (16), a passenger in the car, as a “very talented and able young man”.

He said:  “Drew was a model citizen who was highly respected by staff and pupils in our school community. Always willing to lend a hand, Drew never shied away from responsibility and was a school prefect the pupils looked up to. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”

Special assemblies were held this morning and rooms were set aside for pupils to receive counselling and support. Both staff and volunteers were available to support the young people.
