Inner Moray Firth strategy for new development takes another step forward

Members of The Highland Council’s City of Inverness Area Committee agreed today (18 November) to approve the ‘Inner Moray Firth Proposed Local Development Plan 2’ for public consultation.

This document sets the Council’s vision for how the region should grow over the next 20 years, with emphasis on responding to the climate and ecological emergency and economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The document identifies what land will be appropriate for future development to meet the area’s needs, as well as what land should be safeguarded as protected greenspace.

Once all six relevant area committees and the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee in December approve the document, it will launch for public consultation in March 2022.
