Postal Packs & Polling Cards issued for Ward 21 By-Election

Issued on behalf of the Returning Officer

A total of 2,211 Postal Vote Packs for the Fort William and Ardnamurchan by-election have been mailed out and the Highland Council is advising people to read the instructions carefully when completing their form to ensure their vote counts.

The postal packs contain:

•Envelope A / Postal Voting Statement

•Ballot paper

•Return envelope (Envelope B)

•A guide to completing your postal vote

There is advice and a short video clip explaining how to correctly complete and return your postal ballot below, on the Council’s website - www.highland.gov.uk/byelection and on YouTube.

Anyone who has requested a postal vote will not be able to vote in person at a polling station. However, it is possible to hand your complete postal pack into a polling station within the ward between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 2 December 2021 if you are unable to post it in time.

If you haven’t received your postal pack on or after Thursday 25 November 2021, please telephone 01349 886657 for a replacement pack.

Those voters who will be casting their votes in person at a polling station should have received a poll card that details which polling station they should use.

The Highland Council is asking everyone to check their poll card carefully as the location of some polling stations may have changed.

In order not to disrupt the education of pupils the Council will not be using school premises as polling stations but instead will be using local community halls.

If for any reason you have not received your poll card by now, please telephone 0800 393783

Polling stations will open at 7am on Thursday 2 December 2021 and will remain open until 10pm.
