Council’s Improvement and Transformation Programme update presented to Members

Members of today’s Recovery, Improvement and Transformation Board (RITB) were presented with reports on the Programme Management Office (PMO) activity and a comprehensive report to update them on the progress of the Council’s ambitious Improvement and Transformation Programme, which consists of nine projects and their associated workstreams. Additionally, The Board heard from the Shared Procurement Service and Members expressed their interest in how well the service is performing and uptake by local businesses.  The Board also discussed Investment & Income generation.

Councillor Alasdair Christie, Depute Leader of the Council and Chair of the Recovery, Improvement and Transformation Board: “This was another well attended Recovery, Improvement & Transformation Board which afforded Members to scrutinise and monitor progress of the ambitious programme. Additionally, Members were able to see the theory, practice and hard work that goes into delivering a successful programme following a PMO approach.”

Councillor Christie continued: “The Board considered the progress of the Programme including the overall positive progress against the cashable benefits targets and I would like to express my gratitude for the ongoing efforts of all staff involved. The Board looks forward to further reporting regarding procurement and benchmarking at a future meeting.  We also welcomed the opportunity to discuss Investment & Income Generation and look forward to recommendations being brought forward to Council by March 22 as to how best to proceed in attracting the right advice, expertise and making the most of the Council’s estate and own talent pool in this area.”
