Chief Executive Bows Out

Mr Arthur McCourt bows out as Chief Executive of The Highland Council on 11 July after 12 years at the helm.  Convener Sandy Park paid tribute to Mr McCourt’s outstanding service at the close of Mr McCourt’s final council meeting today (Thursday).

Mr Alistair Dodds, Depute Chief Executive, will take over as Chief Executive at that time.

Mr Alan Geddes, Director of Finance, will deputise for the Chief Executive in Mr Dodds’s absence.

The Council will seek management arrangements from external sources for the position of Director of Housing and Property.  This follows the retirement of Mr Gordon Fisher after almost 12 years as Director of Housing and most latterly as Acting Director of Housing and Property.
