Highland Council winter road condition report for Monday 10 January 2022

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time. It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.
Road condition reports for Monday 10 January 2022 are as follows:
Badenoch and Strathspey: Posted at 08:43. Negative but rising temperatures throughout the area. Primary and Secondary routes being treated. No known overnight issues.
Nairn: Posted at 08:40. Borderline temperatures throughout the area. No winter treatment and no known overnight issues.
Caithness: Posted at 08:23. Main roads mostly damp, side roads have frost and icy patches. All routes treated, footpaths all clear and no issues reported.
Ross and Cromarty East: Posted at 07:25. Rain falling on cold surfaces causing difficult driving conditions. Caution advised on any untreated surfaces.
Ross and Cromarty West: Posted at 07:45. Road surface temperatures are all above zero this morning on routes - except Strathconon which is getting treated. This treatment is currently ongoing. No overnight reported issues.
Lochaber: Posted at 08:24. No winter maintenance action required this morning all road surface temperatures above zero. No overnight issues.
Sutherland: Posted at 08:25. Rain falling on frozen surfaces this morning causing icy roads in places. All routes being treated as necessary. No known issues.
Skye and Raasay: Posted at 08:15. No planned action. Positive road surface temperatures throughout. No issues reported overnight.
Inverness: Posted at 08:42. Icy stretches on some roads, gritters out on routes.
