Communities in Badenoch and Strathspey are being reminded not to miss out on a funding opportunity as the deadlines to apply for support from the Scottish Government Place Based Investment Programme draw near.

The Chair of The Highland Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Trish Robertson issued the reminder today (10 January 2022).

The Programme aims to support capital projects which deliver on ambitions such as town centre revitalisation and community led regeneration, and are shaped by the needs and aspirations of local communities

Last September Members of the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee agreed that an area-based approach would be adopted to manage the Scottish Government’s Place Based Investment Programme grant for 2021/22 £1,963,000.

Chair of Badenoch and Strathspey Area Committee, Cllr Bill Lobban said: “Seven of the Council’s Area Committees have invited applications under the first round of this Place-Based Investment programme and Badenoch and Strathspey is one of those.

“This area-based funding support can really give a boost to local projects in the area, so I thought it was vital to remind community groups and local organisations to make sure they submit their applications in time.”

The Round 1 funding application deadline for Badenoch and Strathspey is 2pm on 19 January 2022.
