There is now an extra week to apply for the post as Gaelic Medium Teacher of Social Subjects at Portree High School. The deadline for applications has been extended to 1 February 2022.

Gaelic Chair, Cllr Calum Munro said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for a Gaelic Medium Teacher to join one of our secondary schools who are dedicated to developing and expanding the offering of Gaelic Medium Education to its pupils. The expansion of Social Subjects offering within the school curriculum is a very welcome addition to the school’s resources to enhance the choices available to pupils in Gaelic Medium Education in Portree. I would encourage anyone who is interested in the post to find out more and apply as soon as possible before the fast-approaching deadline”.

Portree High School currently offers a wide range of their broad general education (S1-S3 stage) through Gaelic Medium Education. In the broad general education, the school offers a total of 12 GME subjects in S1 and S2 with the recent addition of Art and Digital Skills. Subjects such as Tutor Time and PSE are delivered in Gaelic from S1 until S6 and Religious studies taught until the end of S4.
