Highland Council road condition report for Wednesday 30 March 2022

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time.  It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling.

Road conditions reports for Wednesday 30 March 2022 are as follows:

Wester Ross and Lochalsh (posted 11:14): Road surface temperatures below zero overnight. Roads mostly dry and some patchy damp areas towards Ullapool. No reported overnight issues. All treatment completed by 10:30.

Skye & Raasay (posted 08:48): Road surface temperatures close to zero this morning. Road surface is dry. No known issues.

Caithness (posted 07:58): Mix of dry damp roads with some patches of hale and snow areas. No overnight issues to report. All Roads treated as according to policy.

Badenoch & Strathspey (posted 07:56): High level routes have a dusting of snow, and these are being treated as necessary as according to policy. Otherwise, roads are wet.

Nairn (posted 07:55): Light dusting of snow on high level routes which are being treated as necessary as according to policy. Lower routes have wet roads.

Ross & Cromarty (posted 07:55): All Primary and Secondary routes treated as according to policy and checked this morning, no issues reported. Mixture dry and damp roads with covering of snow on verges on higher ground.

Sutherland (posted 07:38): Road surface temperature's low throughout the area with slight snow cover on higher routes. All primary routes currently being treated as according to policy. No known issues.

Inverness (posted 07:33): Some wet snow around the network this morning with road surface temperature's slightly below 0 but set to recover quickly. Treating routes as according to policy. No known issues.

Lochaber (posted 06:40): There are positive road surface temperature roads and a dry change in forecast. No action required and no known issues overnight.
